Orioles Even Divisional Series and Season Series Against The Bombers.
In the first inning, just like yesterday, Derek Jeter and Ichiro Suzuki would both get on base early to start things off. Robinson Cano would capitalize off Suzuki being on base with a double to deep right to give the pinstripe’s their first score of the game. In his first post-season start in over 2 years, Andy Pettitte didn’t look rusty at all striking out 5 and only allowing 7 hits through 7 innings.
However, in the third inning, Baltimore would finally see life in the hitting line-up with a pair of singles from Nate McLouth and Robert Andino followed by J.J. Hardy being walked. With the bases loaded and only 1 out remaining, Chris Davis would single to right driving in both Andino and McLouth to give the birds a 1-run lead.
Jumping to the bottom of the 6th inning, Matt Wieters would start things off doubling to right center followed by a Mark Reynolds single to right center with Wieters scoring. In the 7th, the Yankees would answer back with that exact karma as Eric Chavez doubled to shallow right center with Derek Jeter following suit with a single to left to bring in Nunez for the score.
We have a series now, sort of, as both teams get to enjoy Tuesday off before they head back to the Bronx for game 3 which starts Wednesday at 7:37pm ET on TBS.
