Blake returns next Sunday
Earlier today, Blake Griffin was officially medically cleared to return to the Los Angeles Clippers. Griffin, who’s missed the team’s last 41 games with a partially torn left quad tendon, also broke his hand after punching an assistant equipment manager in January. Before his injury, Blake was having a career year, but the setback surprisingly motivated the Clippers to get an impressive 44 wins.
Following the private incident, the team decided to suspend Blake four games and dock his pay five games. The four-game suspension begins today against the Denver Nuggets, as he’ll unfortunately miss their showdown with the Oklahoma City Thunder later in the week. He’s expected to return to the team’s lineup next Sunday against John Wall and the Washington Wizards.
