Doc Rivers now looks to Josh Smith to provide offense

At 17-13, the Los Angeles Clippers have had a mediocre 2016 season – to say the least. While they’re still atop of Pacific Division out West, they haven’t played up to expectations like previous years, and now flirt with the possibility of dropping below .500 basketball play.

Following their struggle victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas, the team will now be without their co-captain, Blake Griffin, for the next two weeks – with the possibility of a third.

During the first quarter of their game against the Lake Show, Blake suffered a partially torn left quadriceps tendon injury according to Clippers medical staff, but still managed to stay in the game.

An MRI was taken Saturday morning for precautionary measures to their star, as the extent of the injury was revealed. Loss Angeles hopes to have Blake back mid-to-late January, as they’ll now have to look for other players to fill in the void of the team-high 23-points-per game Griffin provides.
