Chris Bosh Has Miami HEAT Jersey Retired and Hung From the Rafters

Though his career was cut short due to blood clots, Chris Bosh‘s career will always live in infamy as he was part of the Big 3 in Miami with the HEAT alongside LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. That decision to make his way to South Beach brought multiple championships to his legacy and while it ended abruptly ended, he has and will be a big part of the organization and history.

Tonight, he was honored by the franchise with his jersey being retired and hung from the rafters. He became the fourth HEAT player in history to have his jersey lifted.

Legends like Alonzo Mourning, Juwan Howard and Shane Battier were on the court for the ceremonial induction and Pat Riley and Wade County spoke on his behalf with some heartfelt words but stories and jokes about his time there.

Bosh also took the microphone to speak to the crowd and thank everyone.

One time for Chris and everything he managed to accomplish in the MIAyayo and for his career moving forward. Lord knows how much he wanted to continue playing and how hard it must have been to give up on the game he loved.

You guys inspired me to come back to the court. You guys gave me the motivation to walk across the room on my hardest days when I didn’t have the energy. Picking me up when I’m down, that’s what Miami is to me.
