Cleveland Cavaliers, Mike Brown Agree To 5-Year/$20M Head-Coaching Deal

Mike Brown Headed Back To Cleveland After 3-Year Departure.

Yes, you’re reading the title correct; Mike Brown is indeed headed back to the Cleveland Cavaliers – effectively immediately. Cavs owner, Dan Gilbert has re-hired Brown after a 3-year divorce which we’ll see the return his defensive scheme of coaching, home.

Some of you are thinking why bring Brown back? Simple, he’s one of the top 5 defensive-minded coaches in the NBA (now) and virtually was the only good coach open in the market. This is definitely an upgrade over recently fired coach Byron Scott who went 63-166 in his 3-year tenure with the team, while Brown under the LeBron James era went 272-138 (including winning 60+ games his last 2 seasons).

Speaking of Bron, rumors are already in the air that the 4-time MVP might be returning home to rejoin Coach Brown and good friend Anderson Varejao. With Cleveland having arguably the best point guard in the game in Kyrie Irving (who’ll make up for the lack of offense from Brown) and SG Dion Waiters; they will also have two top 15 picks for this year’s upcoming draft to drastically improve their team.

We could definitely see an intrigued LeBron happy for the Cavs updated roster to return home, depending how his next two years with Miami turn out.
