Damian Lillard Gives His Opinion on NBA Super Teams

Following the exit of LaMarcus Aldridge to the Spurs in 2015, Damian Lillard has been at the helm of the rebuilding process for the Portland Trail Blazers. The 26-year-old star, who’s looking to help his team over-achieve again this year for another deep playoff run, recently sat down with SiriusXM NBA Radio to discuss what he’s expecting this season for the team.

Alongside C. J. McCollum, the back-court tandem of the future is looking to develop more chemistry together and potentially attract talent in NBA free agency. However, during the interview, Lillard was asked about his future, whether he could see himself pairing with multiple stars to chase a ring.

Damian went to say he has no problem with players creating “super teams,” but feels more intrigued to take down an empire. If you remember, Kevin Durant said those exact sentiments when he was around Lillard’s age some time ago, but obviously had a change of heart.
