Only days before NBA All-Star Weekend, the Portland Trail Blazers suffered a crucial injury. Last night in their game versus the Memphis Grizzlies Damian Lillard suffered a right groin injury that will not only keep him out for All-Star festivities, but longer.
After the game, a disappointed Dame D.O.L.L.A. said that Devin Booker should replace him in the game.
Today, the NBA announced he would, taking his place in the All-Star game and joining Team LeBron, as well as the 3-Point Contest. This marks the first All-Star appearance for the fifth year player out of Kentucky.
Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard suffered a right groin strain (grade 1-2) and is unlikely to participate in Sunday night’s All-Star Game, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.
