Nowitzki, 34, expected to be out of action up approximately weeks after arthroscopic surgery.
Dallas Mavericks superstar, Dirk Nowitzki expected to be out of action up approximately 6 weeks after arthroscopic surgery early this Friday morning. Nowitzki, 34, had been forgoing for surgery the entire summer being in the final years of his prime, but the Mavs management and training insisted their franchise guy have the surgery.
After having his knee drained twice this month already, swelling and soreness continued as he had to have surgery so he could be healthy the entire season and including playoffs.
It’s pretty amusing to me, they would wait just shy of 2 weeks before the upcoming season starts for Dirk to have his knee scoped but that’s their fate in the heavily stacked western conference. Dallas opens up the season against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, October 30th in national game on TNT, which will not be a way they want to start the season without their star player.
Veteran biggs Elton Brand and Chris Kaman over in trades, will have to look to those two to provide the much needed scoring boost with the lack of Nowitzki.
