Dwight Howard Set To Have Season-Ending Back Surgery

Last week, reports leaked that Dwight Howard had herniated disc and would be out of action indefinitely. The Magic were hoping to have Dwight Howard back in time for the playoffs next weekend but after a followup with Magic trainers they learned the tear worsened and surgery was needed. Surgery is set for tomorrow morning in Los Angeles and will require at least six months of rehab. This obviously eliminates Howard’s return not only to the playoffs but for the 2012 Olympics as well.

The Magic currently hold the six seed in the eastern conference and in all likelyness will face the Indiana Pacers in the first round. Win or Go Home!
