ESPN Finds Skip Bayless ‘First Take’ Replacement after Exit to Fox Sports

Sports Center gives Skip shade before his departure from network

Earlier today, ESPN officially gave Skip Bayless his farewell exit from their networks popular morning show, First Take. After the show blew up from its Cold Pizza origins in NYC, as well as a transition to Connecticut for mainstream success, Stephen A. Smith will be flying solo as the star of the sports series. Now, new reports have emerged today that the Disney-based channel is looking to pair the outspoken sports journalist with arguably their biggest name available.

Max Kellerman of SportsNation and HBO, will unfortunately leave his favorable situation in Los Angeles, to move back home to east coast and star opposite Stephen in the mornings. However, while this move on paper seems logical, the two share similar opinions, which we’re not expecting them to create the same magic Mr. Bayless provided in trolling over recent years.

With Skip set to join Fox Sports 1 this fall and launch a debate morning show with Shannon Sharpe, we’re not sure ESPN will be able to provide entertainment – in comparison to Bayless and the former football player. Our suggestion would be just bringing back the duo of Max & Marcellus or finding an alternative for Mr. Smith, to make sure he’s not around something forced.

Let us know in the comments if you like the pairing of Stephen A and Max Biggaveli.
