14-1
With every passing week, the pressure kept growing for the Carolina Panthers to remain unbeaten throughout the regular season. Some wins were ugly, but they got the job done.
All the hope of going 16-0 ended today at the hands of the division rivals Atlanta Falcons, who gave them everything they had at home in the Georgia Dome. The game came down to the wire and Carolina had a few chances to seal the game, but couldn’t close it when it counted.
Cam Newton started things out hot, running for an 8-yard touchdown, becoming the first player in NFL history to pass for over 30 touchdowns and run for 8 in one season.
Things were pretty even for three quarters, until the end of the third and into the fourth, where the dirty birds held on to the lead.
Julio Jones‘ 70-yrd touchdown pass from Matt Ryan is where Falcons took their first lead and a few field goals from Shayne Graham put the nail in the coffin for the Panthers.
With less than two minutes to go, Killa Cam and the Panthers tried to drive down the field and had turnover on downs on one drive and the last drive of the game ended in a Newton fumble.

Now that the pressure is off their back, the Panthers can continue to play their game, look past this and hopefully make it to the Super Bowl.
