Boxing vs. MMA?
Following Saturday’s Canelo Álvarez shocking knockout of Amir Khan (for the WBC, The Ring and lineal middleweight titles), Floyd Mayweather was backstage to talk briefly with reporters. During the interview above, the undefeated boxer went to touch on how the rumors of an alleged fight with UFC Featherweight Champion, Conor McGregor are more believable than most people think.
While the bout would obviously be in a boxing setting, Mayweather is looking to make at least $100 million for the potential fight, with his MMA-counterpart seeing at least $15 million for the night. Dana White is yet to address whether or not he would allow his champion to step into a boxing ring; but McGregor has been very vocal about challenging the guy he truly dislikes – in any setting.
We’re sure the cross-promotional dream scenario between CBS, UFC, Mayweather Promotions, would be something all parties would love to do – even if it does cost 9 figures for Mayweather.
