Golden State Warriors Celebrate Championship Ring Ceremony

Last night during NBA Opening Night on TNT, the Golden State Warriors celebrated their championship ring ceremony during the second game of the doubleheader. Before they played (and beat) the Oklahoma City Thunder, Steph Curry and company got their double-sided rings and hung up the final banner at Oracle Arena before they move to the new stadium in San Francisco.

Even Curry said it was a weird night, but they still enjoyed the little time they had in the arena to receive their jewelry before playing in the game.

“You’re celebrating something that happened four months ago. And then you’ve got to appreciate the moment, see the banner fall, feel the energy from the crowd. And then you’ve got to put the rings back, go warm up for two-and-a-half minutes and then play an NBA basketball game when the other team is salivating, waiting to get a hold of you after seeing the ring ceremony.”

Though the game against OKC was pretty close for a good portion, the Warriors still prevailed after the Thunder went cold in the last stretch.

Dub Nation is considered to be a shoe-in for a three-peat, especially with the addition of DeMarcus Cousins this past offseason. As we all know, the Warriors will cruise for most of the year until the playoffs hit and they turn up. The Western Conference is loaded, though, so it’ll be a battle most nights.
