Well, sort of..
Over the weekend, the Cleveland Cavaliers threw a Halloween party for the ages. The team is still celebrating their championship from last season and are still having fun in the new NBA year. Everyone came out and dressed up, posted on Instagram how awesome the party was and went home after the festivities.
No harm in that, right? None at all.
Except for the fact they were throwing shots at the Golden State Warriors with some of the decorations and snacks at the bash, only igniting the rivalry even more.
The two teams have been involved in a slight war of words and subliminals throughout the offseason and leading into the new year, but this is the first time they blatantly call them out (on cookie). The Warriors come into the season with a chip on their shoulder and looking to prove everyone wrong after losing in the Finals, while the Cavs have come into the new season having fun, partying and confident they can repeat.

“More power to them. I already got enough fuel. I don’t need more. Enjoy.”
As much as they don’t want to admit it, you know it stings when they’re reminded of that 3-1 series lead and complete collapse after winning an NBA record 73 games. And you know these back-and-forths aren’t going to stop any time soon. The Cavs will keep poking at the Warriors emotions.
The game on Christmas Day is going to be that much sweeter.
