Looks like the Golden State Warriors are not staying put after news that Klay Thompson would be out for the rest of the 2020-2021 season with an Achilles tear.
They were heavy in the open market and are now adding Kelly Oubre Jr. to the roster, making a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
OKC acquired Oubre in a deal with the Phoenix Suns, which sent Chris Paul to the desert.
The Warriors will absorb Oubre Jr., and his $14.4M salary into their $17.2M trade exception once deal is done. https://t.co/GcLaIlnwNF

Golden State tax bill is currently $66M
The addition of Kelly Oubre would see it increase to $134M
$14.4M of Oubre + $68M in taxes= $82.4M

The deal puts the Warriors over the tax bill at egregious levels, at a whopping $82.4M. His salary plus the $68M in taxes gives them a ballooned bill.
How much will James Wiseman and Oubre Jr. help the Warriors next season?
