Today marks the 34th birthday for the most successful (and some argue greatest) Laker of all time, Kobe Bryant. Kobe who was elimited in last years playoffs by the Oklahoma City Thunder; but still managed to average 30 points a game in the playoffs and finished second behind rival Kevin Durant as the leagues leading scorer for the season.
It’s been a vast array of victories for the 16-year vet as he helped lead team USA to victory a few weeks ago for his second consecutive Olympic Gold medal, as well as the major additions of Steve Nash and Dwight Howard who will also be wearing purple and gold in a few weeks. While doing all of these things, most importantly he managed to keep his good friend Pau Gasol with the Lakers organization who wished him a happy birthday with a cake included on twitter earlier.
So today we salute the Black Mamba for his illustrious NBA career thus far and hope to see more success for the 5x NBA champion in the future.
