Championship Boxing returns in two weeks!
In two weeks, Chris Algieri will be stepping into the ring for his biggest fight ever against Philippine sensation, Manny Pacquiáo. Fresh from his victory over Ruslan Provodnikov to win the WBO Light Welterweight title, he will be challenging Pacman for his WBO Welterweight title. The 30-year-old fighter will be taking on Pacquiao in China on November 22nd; and is coming into the fight with ultimate confidence.
HBO begins their 24/7 hype series once again, featuring the two fighters, as Manny prepares to give Algieri his first ever career loss. The first episode centers on the background story of Algieri’s upbringing, growing up as the Italian from Long Island and deciding to pursue boxing. In his short career, he’s been able to become a known name and is looking to acquire elite status with the biggest fight ever in his career.
Manny’s definitely not taking his opponent for granted either, learning from his previous 2012 nightmare of losses to both Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Márquez. Watch the first episode of Pacquiáo vs. Algieri to get a sense of both fighter’s mindsets heading into the fight.
