Highlight Of The Night: Durant’s Late Jumper Lifts Thunder Past Mavericks

Oklahoma City 99, Dallas 98
Thunder lead 1-0

In the first game between the Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder, both teams did their best impersonations to match the intensity that was in last year’s Western Conference Finals. Durant might be the talk of the night with the game winning shot to give the Thunder the edge in game 1, but the real player of the game was Serge Ibaka. Ibaka tied a career high of 22 points with 6 rebounds and 5 blocks. Oklahoma City trailed Dallas by 7 with less 2 1/2 minutes after a jumper by Mavs Forward, Dirk Nowitzki. Nowitzki scored 11 of his 25 points in the 4th quarter, but that wasn’t enough to stop the Thunders rally as Durant had 2 key assist to Ibaka late in the 4th before daggering the Mavs with a game-winning 15-foot jumper.

Game 2 is scheduled this Monday on TNT with a tipoff set for 9:30 pm (ET).
