Miami Comes Up 6-Games Shy of Passing The 72’ Lakers For Longest Winning Streak In NBA History.
Wednesday night, the Miami Heat traveled to play the Chicago Bulls with aspirations of extending their nearly 2-month long winning streak to 28. Chicago native Dwayne Wade, who missed the Heat’s previous two games due to pain in his left knee resurfacing from off-season surgery returned to their starting lineup to rejoin the team.
Derrick Rose, who had been rumored to return back before the playoffs with doctors even giving him the one hundred percent clearance to hit the hardwood wasn’t suited up along with co-captain Joakim Noah who also was out due to plantar fasciitis in his foot.
The Bulls opening the game with a 13-2 run setting the tone for the rest of the game showing they meant business on their home court and wouldn’t be intimidated by the “Heat-Streak.” With contributions from role players Nate Robinson and Jimmy Butler on their short-handed roster, the Bulls were led by Carlos Boozer and Loul Deng who both came out the gate scoring.
Miami would end the first quarter with Chris Anderson & LeBron James efforts getting them back into the game to at least stay within striking distance. The Heat fell down to their largest deficit in the game at 13 points with Nate Robinson raining a few 3’s to keep the Bulls ahead. He ended the first half with a floating bank-shot to give Chicago a 55-46 lead heading into the half.
