Highlight Of The Night: Warriors Hand Nuggets First Home Loss In 3 Months To Even Series

Golden State Steals Homecourt In Upset Victory Road Victory Over Denver..

It’s not every day the Denver Nuggets lose at home (literally), with the Golden St. Warriors giving them their first home loss in over 3 months. The Nuggets held an NBA season best at 38 home wins only losing only 3 on their court the entire season.

Largely contributed to having the league’s best depth and one of the top 5 coaches in George Karl, the Nuggets were immortal at home. Now with the season-ending surgery to Danilo Gallinari and both Andre Miller and Kenneth Faried battling day-to-day injuries, Denver became more vulnerable at home.

The Nuggets won game 1 in a last second buzzer beater from Andre Miller, but the fun excitement was left for the weekend, as the Warriors came back for game 2 firing. The story of the game was the long-range shooting for Golden St. which saw a 56% shooting from deep highlighted by Klay Thompson shooting 5-6 from three.

Stephen Curry who just broke the record for most three’s made in a single season, continued the pattern into tonight’s game knocking down 4, but would twist his ankle during the second half. The Nuggets played a great game shooting 50% from field, but the Warriors 3-pointers were just too much for Denver to overcome down the stretch.

The series now heads to the Oracle Arena, where the motivated Warriors will look to keep raining threes from long distance on their own home-court. The Nuggets have to win one on the road with the series now officially beginning tied 1-1.

If Denver heads back home down 3-1, anything could happen with the best back-court three-point shooting tandem in the league sending them home in a potential upset. Game 3 is set for Friday night on ESPN 2 co-headlined by the Lakers and Spurs who will get the main audience on ESPN.
