Ben Simmons might be out for a while with a foot injury, but the big men that have been missing in action from injuries are now in the lineup for the Philadelphia 76ers.
The last time Joel Embiid played basketball was back in college at Kansas, essentially making him a rookie this season even though he was drafted third overall in the 2014 draft. After a series of foot surgeries, the center finally made his way on the floor tonight for the Sixers against the Boston Celtics, showing some of his potential.
As you can see in the clip below, he was getting it done on both side of the court, blocking shots and scoring in the paint. Another element he’s added to his game is the outside shot too. He hit a triple tonight and might lowkey be a stretch four if he keeps knocking it down.
Philadelphia might be without their No. 1 pick but they have some solid young pieces that can mature and help them get out of the black hole of losing.
