RIP TO Lob City
Tuesday afternoon, multiple reports surface with James Harden privately urging the Houston Rockets to go after Chris Paul. Well, the Rockets have landed the star point guard, in a blockbuster deal that ensures he gets his super max deal that he lobbied for as President of the NBA Players’ Association. This move now essentially ends Lob City in Los Angeles, as Blake Griffin will now be likely to sign with a contender as well, probably named the Boston Celtics.
Last month, Houston had a legit chance of returning to the Western Conference Finals, but chocked against the San Antonio Spurs – who were without Tony Parker. We’re not sure if this move even makes them legit contenders to Pop’s team or even the Golden State Warriors. But, it’s likely the team could be looking to add another major piece at the 3-5.
However, giving a examination OF the trade – the team sends away Sam Dekker, Patrick Beverley and Lou Williams and a top-three protected 2018 first-round pick to Los Angeles. This is obviously a steal for the Rockets, who get a franchise player and rids away veteran talent they didn’t want.
Our only question will be how Harden and Paul will be able to co-exist with each other on the court, being both ball dominant players. This move also immediately starts a brand-new era with Jerry West now running the Clippers. Let us know in the comments what you think of this major move.

Chris Paul opting in instead of signing new max contract now will cost him about $11 million next season. But he has a $3.6M trade kicker.

I think — think — Houston has to send out more $$ or wait until after 7/1 to consummate deal. May be more moves coming.

LAC could have $70m+ in room during the summer of 2018. Slate would be wiped clean to put a plan in place for the future.

To the Los Angeles community and to CLIPPER NATION I say THANK YOU!!! For the past 6 years you all have welcomed not only me but my family. We love all of you.
