With Magic Johnson moving on to ESPN (just had to throw that out there), NBA TV and Turner have reached out to NBA Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas to become their newest studio analyst. He’s expected to debut this Friday and will make “several” appearances each month along with contributing regular to NBA.com.
Thomas in the past has been known for winning back-to-back NBA titles in 89 and 90, which could’ve been three due to a game 6 ankle injury; but he most recently coached in the collegiate level for Florida International which he had a record of 26-65 and was relieved of his duties this past April.
The big elephant in the room is obviously his unsuccessful tenure with the Knicks as they failed to win a playoff game with him there as coach or president but he will now have a fresh start in his career off the court on NBATV/.com to put those unforgivable memories of the 2000s in the back of our minds.
