Thunder floor general and 6th man of the year, James Harden turned down a four-year, $52 million contract extension. He’s currently looking for a 4-year, $60M contract but the Thunder want to pay less than what he’s asking for. The team now has until Wednesday to re-sign Harden to the contract extension or he’ll become a restricted free agent after the season on July 1st when free agency begins.
OKC’s already locked up Serge Ibaka over the summer to a 4-Year/$48M Deal and recently drafted Perry Jones III as the sleeper pick of the NBA draft. Locking up Harden to the contract that he rightfully deserves would be the next step into that direction with no off the court issues from this classy team.
The Thunder in my opinion are destined for a championship in the coming years and could potentially be the favorite out of the Western Conference the next decade with their core group along of superstars in Durant and Westbrook still under the age of 25 already having NBA Finals experience.
