Jeanie Buss Talks About Current State of Lakers, Past Losing Seasons

The talk around Los Angeles the past few weeks has not been so bad. Or at least as bad as it has been the past few seasons. As we all know, the Lakers have been especially terrible, suffering their worst non-playoff streak in franchise history.

We witness Kobe Bryant go out injured and as a loser, leading one of the worst teams in the NBA and definitely anything to hit a court in purple and gold in history.

Vice President of Operations Jim Buss pledged to step down if the Lakers weren’t contending in three seasons and the time is getting near for that decision.

With a handful of young talent (Brandon Ingram, D’Angelo Russell, Julius Randle, etc.) and new head coach Luke Walton enjoying a bit of success to start the season, it will be interesting to see what Jeanie Buss does in the next year or so to help the organization. Will her brother actually step down? Will the Lakers be in the playoffs this season or the next?

In this story with Outside The Lines, Jeanie talks about the past few horrible seasons, leaving the basketball operations to her brother and Mitch Kupchak, while ESPN also got the perspectives of Carlos Boozer, Byron Scott and Matt Barnes about what has gone wrong with the organization the past few seasons after having such a winning culture.

As a Lakers fan, let’s just come out and say it: GET JIM THE FUCK OUT OF HERE.
