Are the Bulls returning to the Eastern Conference Finals?
In recent years, Jimmy Butler has taken the reigns of being the best player on the Chicago Bulls roster. Although Derrick Rose remains captain, Butler was named the league’s Most Improved Player, as well as making his first ever NBA All-Star team last February. This soon led to a Jimmy Buckets receiving a 5-year, $90 million maximum deal to start the month of July and free agency (he initially declined an opt-in last summer to prove himself).
The 25-year-old emerging star stopped by ESPN’s First Take to discuss the disappointing post-season he and the Bulls endured – even after winning 50 games during regular play. Buckets led Chicago in points and steals per-game, which prompted many to speculate whether there was tension between himself and D-Rose.
Watch above, as Butler responds to those allegations of a rift between teammates, the unfortunate firing of Tom Thibodeau and how the team is responding to first time head coach Fred Hoiberg.
