Joel Embiid Rejects LeBron James From Behind With Authority

It’s only seven games into the season but the Joel Embiid cult in Philadelphia keeps growing. Whether it’s draining threes from way downtown or using his post-up game to score, Sixers fans and even those beyond love what the big man is bringing to the team.

Defensive plays like these only make it that much sweeter.

In the beginning of the first quarter, LeBron James had an easy rebound after a missed shot and he pushed it up the court coast to coast. What he failed to notice is Embiid trailed him the whole way and pulled an LBJ on the king himself. Joel sent the basketball practically out of the arena with the emphatic block.

Although he didn’t get it on that play, shortly after, King James became the 10th All-Time NBA leading scorer, passing up Hakeem Olajuwon on the list.

The game was close in the fourth quarter, but the Sixers did not have an answer for LBJ. He kept scoring and dishing the rock. Even Channing Frye managed to give the Cavs the lead following a three-pointer from deep. Philly could not seal the victory in the closing minutes.

LeBron finished with 25 points, 14 assists and 8 rebounds, while Kevin Love had 20 points and 11 rebounds. Embiid had another solid performance, scoring 22 points and grabbing 6 rebounds.
