The 76ers Crowd Welcomes Joel Embiid to Philadelphia

If Joel Embiid turns out to be half as good as he is on the court as he is on Twitter, we’re in for an entertaining season. One game into his NBA career, he already got the crowd to give him a standing ovation and show off with the Philadelphia 76ers have been missing for two years.

Eight minutes into the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Embiid was putting the moves on Andre Roberson and faking him out with the turn around fade away. Then on defense, he blocked the fuck out of a shot by Russell Westbrook in the paint.

The crowd went absolutely bezerk.

Embiid led all Sixers scorers with 20 points and hauled down 7 rebounds. If tonight was any indication of what he’s got in the tank for the season, let’s just all pray he stays healthy so we can watch Philadelphia take more W’s than they do L’s.
