Dana White is pushing his real poster boy back into the limelight!
Just ten months ago, Jon Jones was at all-time low in life and his career, after being stripped of his UFC belt after testing positive for cocaine usage before fights, as well as the infamous hit-and-run incident that went viral. However, with the careers of Conor McGregor and Ronda Rousey on hold, Dana White is pushing the redemption story of Bones sooner than some expected.
Originally, Jon was set to fight Daniel Cormier at UFC 197 last night; but the current Light Heavyweight Champion pulled out of the fight three weeks ago, and was replaced by Ovince Saint Preux. As both fighters showed rust, including O.S.R. respectably taking the match on short notice, it would take a decision for Jones to win the new the interim UFC Light Heavyweight Championship.
Following the fight, Bones immediately put that belt to the side and cited it wasn’t the real one – calling out Daniel in front of the Las Vegas crowd. After leaving the ring, Cormier would shout a few things towards the way of Jones, which resulted in two middle fingers aimed at the way of Daniel.
We’re hopeful the two enemies have a bout at UFC 201 in August.
