Josh Gordon Reflects on Past, Wants To Prove His Maturity

There’s no denying Josh Gordon has always had the talent to be one of the best receivers in the game. His questionable decisions off the field and problems with substance abuse have really stunted his potential, ultimately driving him out of the game.

He now has possibly his last chance to correct things this season, even though he has been suspended for the first four games of the season. But it should be a surprise he will even play.

In talking to reporters as he checked into the Cleveland Browns training camp, the wide receiver showed a bit more maturity and pledged to prove why he has changed.

“I definitely think I’m a different person. If you haven’t changed over a period of time than it’s definitely a bad thing. I think me standing here is a testament to that. Most people might not see it that way. That just comes with the territory with me being who I am, considering my past. But I’m only looking towards the future. And hopefully people can see that.

In the past I’ve been a selfish player. I’ll definitely admit that. I wanted to do things my way. But things turn around. People change. It’s possible to change. It takes some learning, but you eventually get to that point and I think I have.”

Now all he has to do is put his money where his mouth is and do what he is saying.
