NFL mystery of the week
We haven’t exactly been Johnny Manziel fans throughout his NFL career, but we have to give the boy some credit igniting the team and getting them their first win of the season last week (not to mention his first W ever as a starter). Just when you though the Johnny Football era was going to start in Cleveland, Coach Pettine pulls a head scratching move, sending Johnny back to the bench after Josh McCown cleared concussion protocol this past week.
If there have been any bright spots to the season for the Browns, it’s been those long bombs from Manziel to Travis Benjamin. But apparently, Manziel’s good play in week two against the Tennessee Titans wasn’t enough for him to overtake the starting role.
For the moment, McCown will continue being the starter for Pettine.
