LeBron James has not had much luck in Salt Lake City when playing against the Utah Jazz. Up to this point, LBJ lost four in a row on the road against the Jazz and tonight was no different.
In the first quarter, the Cleveland Cavaliers got off to a strong start, including this fast break opportunity when JR Smith tossed up a high alley-oop to LeBron for the highlight reel. The ball was damn near behind King James when he caught it, and he still managed to bring it down for a slam.
The Cavs played stuck around for most of the game even though they weren’t hitting their shots much, going into the 4th quarter tied at 66. The Jazz defended them well and went on a big run in the middle of the quarter and they never caught back up.
Cleveland had a chance to come back after a red-hot Trey Lyles got ejected, thanks to a small scuffle with Channing Frye after an elbow to the jewels, but it was too little too late.
Rodney Hood ended up taking back over the game, heading to the line down the stretch and extending his point count to 28 to lead all scorers on the night.
And the young Utah squad did this all without their leading scorer Gordon Hayward, who was out for the game with plantar fasciitis in his right foot.
The Jazz have won their third straight game and trail the Dallas Mavericks by two games in the Western Conference for the eighth and final spot for the playoffs.
