It was another devastating blow for the Portland Trail Blazers last night as they lost another key piece to their team.
After losing C.J. McCollum for a few, Jusuf Nurkic suffered a compound fracture of his tibula and fibula during last night’s game against the Brooklyn Nets. The injury happened when he went up for a rebound in the second overtime and came down wrong on his leg.
Nets players around him looked down and immediately left the vicinity, as everyone knew things were serious. The arena went silent and eventually, Nurkic was stretchered off.
This is a major blow for the Blazers postseason chances, as they had a solid regular season and were looking to get over the hump this playoffs after getting swept last year. Without Nurkic, Enes Kanter will have to step up in his place, with playoff seeding getting real during this crunch time.
Portland is currently a half game back of the Rockets for the third seed in the Western Conference as the last games of the seasons play out.
Prayers for Nurkic.
