Fuck Zaza. . .
Last week, a report came out that Kawhi Leonard would most likely miss the rest of the 2018 season. Well, according to Michael C. Wright and Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Leonard has returned to the team this week and is already targeting in-game action for late March.
League sources revealed, “Leonard has returned from NY, where he spent three weeks seeking further consultation on a right quad injury that has sidelined him for most of the season, league sources said. Leonard isn’t expected to immediately start engaging in full five-on-five practices with his teammates, but the goal is to advance toward that level of engagement in the near future.”
In the previous press from the organization, Gregg Popovich said he didn’t expect his superstar player to return this year. Well, with the team just 21 games away from finishing the regular season, they’ve managed to keep the third best record in the west at 36-25. During that time, Leonard was home rehabbing his right quad tendinopathy – which was cleared last week.
However, from the outside looking in, it’s looking like Kawhi doesn’t want to jeopardize his upcoming super-max free agency for the summer of 2019. It’s unclear how this situation has possibly hindered their relationships; but a deep playoff run in May could have them forgetting about this season. Take a look at Woj explaining the story below.
