Before going into tonight’s game, questions were raised on whether the Texas A&M Aggies would bounce back this year in the wake of Johnny Manziel’s departure. After watching Kenny Hill’s performance against South Carolina, it’s safe to say any doubt has been erased. The sophomore exceeded everyone’s expectations beyond anything anyone could imagine. It was a record breaking night.
In his debut, Hill threw for 511 yards and and 3 touchdowns, breaking the single-game passing record, previously set by Johnny Football himself.
The game remained fairly close for much of the first half, until about the middle of the second quarter, when Hill threw a touchdown to Edward Pope, then Tra Carson ran in for one of his three scores on the night. The Aggies went into Halftime with a 31-14 lead that the Gamecocks could not catch up to for the remainder of the second half.
Kenny Hill ended the game completing 44 of 60 passes, with his touchdowns being thrown to Ricky Seals-Jones, Josh Reynolds and Pope.
It seems like South Carolina and Steve Spurrier squad was missing Jadeveon Clowney more than Texas A&M was missing Johnny Manziel.
FINAL: (21) Texas A&M 52 | (9) South Carolina 28
