The media loved to stir up this Kevin Durant vs. Russell Westbrook for a good part of last season. Things seemed to have simmered down, especially after Kendrick Perkins said the two squashed things towards the end of the year. Now, KD is proving the water might be under the bridge, because he has congratulated his old teammate in the most random of places. Not on Twitter. Not on Instagram. But, in YouTube comments?
Durant took to his YouTube to wish Westbrook and others congratulations for their NBA Awards, including Mike D’Antoni, Draymond Green, Malcolm Brogdon and James Harden.
“Huge congrats to Russell Westbrook on MVP, that boy went out there and was a created player on 2k all year, Fuckin balled out. Gotta respect it!”
It was more of a notable mention for Russ, because Draymond and Eric Gordon got standalone posts, but you know, it’s good to see Durant being the bigger person.
He wasn’t the only one wishing Westbrook congrats either. Michael Jordan did too and his message was real as fuck. It’s probably going to give Russ than extra energy to keep going and bring a championship to Oklahoma City. Something the team couldn’t do with KD and Harden.
Oh yeah, Taylor Swift sent Russ a congrats message too. Random as fuck. Ok, Taylor.
