If you’ve been following Kevin Durant‘s injury report and trajectory for his return ever since he hurt his calf in the series against the Houston Rockets, this news comes to no surprise. The Golden State Warriors have officially ruled out KD from Wednesday’s Game 3 against the Toronto Raptors in Oakland.

Steve Kerr mentioned that Durant is “ramping up workouts” and most speculate that he will return for Game 4 of the NBA Finals, but nothing is confirmed as of yet.
In related Dub Nation news, Klay Thompson has been ruled as questionable with a hamstring injury, though he has emphasized this entire time that he intends to play. He even told reporters after Game 2 that his high ankle sprain in the series against the Cleveland Cavaliers hurt worse than this does, so he’s a go for Game 3.
We’ll see how cautious the Warriors play that because they can’t afford to not have Thompson the court for an extended period of time.
Kevon Looney is also out for the rest of the series with a fracture.
With Golden State as hobbled as they are now, this is the best chance Toronto has to win a game on the road and take back home court advantage.
