Kevin Durant Talks Rapper Shoutouts & Pre-Game Playlists

Love him or hate him, you still have to respect Kevin Durant. Whether you agree with his decision to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder for the greener pastures of the Golden State Warriors, the man is still deadly on the basketball court. How his play will mesh with the Dub Nation superstars remains to be seen, but adding another weapon is never a bad thing.

In this talk with GENIUS, KD shares some of the songs that he listens to before and after games. Interestingly, he listens to more relaxed music before taking the court, mentioning the likes of Teddy Pendergrass, because they remind him of old times at his grandmother’s house. After the game when the adrenaline is pumping is when he puts the trap music from Future and Jeezy.

He also mentioned A Tribe Called Quest, old JAY Z, old Kanye West, 2pac and The Notorious B.I.G. as stuff he listens to, and it all depends on the mood he’s in.

Even further, he spoke on what he felt like getting shoutouts on records from Drake, JAY Z and Wale. Plus, he showed love to Logic for being from his city and said his album is one of the best he’s listened to this year.
