Kristaps Porzingis Reportedly Left New York Knicks Because of Kevin Durant

Summer nineteen. .

Just two weeks ago, Kristaps Porziņģis and the New York Knicks held a private meeting, regarding the future of the team. With the franchise currently tanking for Zion Williamson, they have big summer free agency plans – starting with Kevin Durant. This week, for once, ESPN has an exclusive story with quality content, pertaining to the NBA.

On the Lowe Post podcast, ESPN’s Zach Lowe revealed that Porz wasn’t excited to be playing with Durant, meaning they would be sharing the spotlight of Broadway together. With Kristaps battling another injury-plagued year, the team immediately shipped him out and dropped their salary cap even more to ink more players after Durant.

The exact quote read, “I don’t think he was psyched about playing with Durant. I don’t know how directly that was verbalized to the Knicks, but I’m confident that it wasn’t something that was like his Plan A. … He wanted to be the face of the franchise.”

Let us know in the comments if you think this was the right move to tank and get two immediate stars for free agency in a few months.
