THROW IT DOWN BIG MAN!
When the New York Knicks made Kritaps Porzingis the No. 4 pick in the past NBA Draft, every basketball fan was baffled and shook their head, confused as to why Phil Jackson would choose him over Emmanuel Mudiay, Stanley Johnson or Willie Cauley-Stein. There was even talk that Carmelo Anthony was pissed at the pick.
Although he hasn’t been absolutely dominating, the Latvian rookie has shown flashes the past two games, as he still gets accustomed to the speed of the league.
In tonight’s game against the Atlanta Hawks, he showed why the Zenmaster was so keen on him, picking off a pass from Al Horford at the top of the key, taking the ball down the court in transition, busting out a spin move and throwing down a dunk to finish off the fast break.
Porzingis finished the game with 10 points and 8 rebounds, while teammate ‘Melo led all scorers dropped 25 points and 7 rebounds of his own. The Knicks still lost.
