It seems like from out-of-the-blue, Kristaps Porzingis has put himself in the position to be snagged in the Top 3 spots in the upcoming NBA Draft. Most people don’t know who he is, since the 7″ Latvian player didn’t go to college in the United States and isn’t a household name like some of the other prospects headed to the league, but he’s been impressing scouts and general managers alike whenever they see him play.
He can shoot the three and is very mobile for his size, drawing comparisons to someone like Dirk Nowitzki, who has had a very successful run in the NBA.
For those who don’t know much about Porzingis and why teams like the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers are seriously considering taking him ahead of Jahlil Okafor or D’Angelo Russell, Grantland followed him around during pro-day to check out his game. Big name folks like Phil Jackson, Flip Saunders, Mitch Kupchak were all there to watch as well, trying to get a glimpse at why he’s considered a Top 5 draft pick.
