Kyrie Irving Is Uneasy About the Cavs Offseason So Far

It’s been a crazy ass NBA offseason. Seriously, Paul George and Jimmy Butler got traded. The Boston Celtics had the No. 1 pick in the draft and flipped it to Jason Tatum at No. 3 and then signed Gordon Hayward, the Houston Rockets added Chris Paul to the already formidable squad that James Harden led last year and even the Golden State Warriors added more pieces to their championship team.

What have the Cleveland Cavaliers done? Not much.

You know, besides letting David Griffin go, shaking up their front office, make LeBron James not confident about his future in The Land and fans nervous about the future. Especially if the Warriors are going to run game and create this dynasty for the next few seasons.

Not one to say much to the media, Kyrie Irving said some interesting things in Sports Illustrated, and as uneasy as it sounds, it still had a glimmer of hope:

“I understand we’re in a very peculiar place. We just have to, you know, make sure that all our pieces are aligned first, and then we go from there. It’s the summertime, a lot of craziness going on in the NBA. Best to just observe and then see what happens, but obviously there are some things that I’m pretty sure our organization wants to do, and we’ll go from there.”

There have been reports that the Cavs almost landed PG13 in a trade around the draft and it seems like any of their offseason moves have fallen short if they still want to compete with Dub Nation next season, but there’s not much doubt that they will still be the favorites coming out of the Eastern Conference next season. Will it be enough to beat the Warriors? Probably not.

But Dan Gilbert better do something soon before this team goes into rebuild mode.
