L.A. Angels Acquire RHP Zack Greinke

Former Cy Young Winner Heading To Orange County.

The Angels have acquired Zack Greinke from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for Jean Segura, Johnny Hellweg and Ariel Pena. With the addition of Greinke to their rotation which includes aces such as Jered Weaver and C.J. Wilson, this instantly makes the Angels a legitimate threat to the Texas Rangers as well as the rest of the American League.

The 28 year old right-hander will be a free agent at the conclusion of the season, but is widely expected to re-sign with the Angels for a long-term deal according to sources.

Their division rival, the Texas Rangers currently have a 5 game edge in the wins, loss column but are a 1/2 game ahead of the Oakland Athletics in the wild card standings. Expect things to really heat up in the AL West, as the Angels who now have the best starting trio in the majors, will have a rejuvenated batting rotation with hopes of landing a first round playoff bye.
