Late Breaking News: OKC Trades James Harden To The Rockets

Rockets Acquire James Harden In 6-Player Trade With Thunder.

Remember earlier when I reported James Harden and the Oklahoma City Thunder were having contract problems right? Well, Thunder GM Sam Presti has taken the problems into his own hands by trading their star 6th man away with Daequan Cook, Lazar Hayward and Cole Aldrich to the Houston Rockets for Jeremy Lamb, Kevin Martin, two 2013 first-round picks via Dallas and Toronto and one 2013 second-round pick via Charlotte.

Sources also say Rockets GM, Daryl Morey intends to re-sign Harden to a max-extension deal that he was originally seeking from the Thunder before Wednesday’s deadline.

The trio of the future with Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and James Harden has now been disbanded with management unable to come to terms with swingman Harden on a $4.5M dispute of a 4-year contract. This really shakes up things in the Western Conference significantly as some of you Laker fans out there should be extremely happy with the upcoming season as they’ve now become the obvious favorites in the Western Conference for the Finals.

OKC won the deal getting valuable pieces in return and future draft picks but it’s not going to help them now with a hungry duo of Durant and Westbrook to take the final step in their quest to winning championships. And everyone wonders why small market teams never win championships, cheap hypocrites. Great job Mr. Presti, best of luck to James Harden.

PS, it doesn’t matter who starts; he’s on the court in the final seconds of the game people.
