The NBA Draft is one day away and the Ball family is excited to hear their son Lonzo’s name get called up to the podium with the second pick. Father LaVar has been speaking the Los Angeles Lakers pick into existence way before anyone knew that Magic Johnson and company were actually going to land a Top 3 pick and we’re practically 24 hours away from that happening.
Although Lavar and company have been all over ESPN and other sports outlets throughout the past few months thanks to his outlandish statements, it’s not just sports media that is paying attention anymore. GQ visited the Ball family at their residence to talk about Big Baller Brand, all the attention on him and how his family has been handling the added pressure.
One of the most interesting quotes from the interview was how real he kept it with one of his sons, LiAngelo, saying that he probably won’t make it to the NBA.
“I told my boys that one of them wasn’t going to make it. Because if you’ve got three, only one, maybe two make it to the NBA. He’s going to be taken care of either way.”
Although nobody from the family argued against it, LaVar said that if Gelo’s basketball career doesn’t pan out, he could always be a model. His mother also said all her boys have star power but her husband believes LaMelo will have the most out of the three Ball boys.
