We all knew this was coming, but it is finally official. LeBron James was in no rush to re-sign with his hometown team and it definitely seems like the Cleveland Cavaliers put up the money to keep him in The Land for longer than the one-year contracts he’s previously been signing.
Rich Paul told ESPN that King James’ deal is worth a reported $100 million over three years, with the third year being a player option.
LBJ will be the highest paid athlete in the league this upcoming season, because in the first year, he will be making $31 million. In the second year, his salary will increase to $33 million.
LeBron's salary in 2017-18 will top $33 million and be the highest single season salary in NBA history.
