We know those MVP voting results have to have made LeBron James feel some sort of way. There is no doubt Steph Curry should have been the one voted that award, but there are disputes about whether King James deserved to have been bumped down all the way to third in the results behind Kawhi Leonard. Even if it was by the slimmest of margins.
So how does LBJ actually feel about Chef Curry winning the award?
“I think sometimes the word ‘valuable’ or best player of the year you can have different results. You know, that’s not taking anything from anyone that’s ever won the award.
Look at Steph’s numbers: He averaged 30, he led the league in steals, he was 90-50-40 and they won 73 [games]. So, I don’t — do you have any debate over that, really, when it comes to that award? But when you talk about most ‘valuable,’ then you can have a different conversation, so, take nothing away from him, he’s definitely deserving of that award, for sure.”
We all saw how the Golden State Warriors performed when Steph was injured, but if the roles were reversed and James was injured for extended period of time, would the Cleveland Cavaliers hold up as well as Dub Nation did? Does the king have a point?
