The greatest fighter this generation looks to give us a classic!

After months of negotiations between JAY Z’s Roc Nation Sports and Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions, the mega-fight between middleweight world champion Miguel Cotto and Canelo Alvarez has officially been finalized. Originally set to take place last May, the battle between Puerto Rico and Mexico is set to go down this November 21st at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The 25-year-old Alvarez is a former unified junior middleweight titleholder and is looking to take on another elite fighter and build his star power this holiday. Cotto is set to defend his WBC, Lineal and The Ring Middleweight titles and will look to add upon his hall-of-fame resume with a possible win at the age of 34. Both orthodox fighters are known for having an array of knocks throughout their career, so we don’t expect this one to go the distance.

Expect to see non-stop action on HBO PPV for the long-awaited epic showdown fans like us have been pleading for over the last year. For you casual boxing watchers, this will not have the same outcome of the Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao finish you complained about – so be sure to clear your calendars this fall.
