St. Louis at Atlanta (5:07pm ET) | Baltimore at Texas (8:37pm ET)
The 2012 MLB Postseason is finally here as we’re going to see two winner-take-all games later today in the new MLB postseason format. Under this new format, the 3 division leaders from each make the playoffs like normal; but instead of having one wildcard team playing the top seeded team from their respective league, there will be two wildcard teams in each league that will play one-playoff game with the winner advancing to the playoffs to face the top seeded team in their league.
Today we get to see games with the defending World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals traveling to play the Atlanta Braves; while the most improved team of the year, the Baltimore Orioles travel and play the defending AL champion Texas Rangers. It’s really baffling that the two teams from last year’s World Series would be in this must-win predicament but that’s what makes the game enticing to watch every year.
