Earlier this week Philadelphia’s Mo’Ne Davis helped lead her team to round one of the Little League World Series after pitching a complete game shutout against Newark in the Mid-Atlantic Regional championship game. Today, after a few days rest, she returned to the mound again looking to match her previous effort and to say the least she did that and more.

Day two of the Little League World Series kicked off earlier today and although there are total 16 teams in the competition one person who sticks out among the players on each team is Philadelphia’s 13-year-old female phenom, Mo’Ne Davis. Davis, who is fresh off a complete game shutout on Sunday night in an 8-0 victory against Newark, had all eyes on her today where she took the hill against the Tennessee team in hopes of pitching just as good if not better in today’s game. She did just that as she pitched her second complete game shutout in the same week!

Like any pitcher you would see pitching the Major Leagues, Mo’Ne was locked in on the mound and didn’t let any of what was going on around her get to her while on there. In today’s game she allowed just two hits in her six shutout innings, while striking out eight in the 4-0 win.

After the shutout in her previous start, she gained recognition from professional athletes from the likes of David Price, Russell Wilson, Magic Johnson, Andrew McCutchen, Clayton Kershaw among many others and after today’s outing we can imagine the type of support and fans she’ll gain after making Little League World Series history becoming the first girl to throw a shutout in the LLWS. Be sure to stay tuned on for more from Mo’Ne and her Philadelphia teammates in this year’s LLWS as she’s destined to put on a show each outing.
